The Story Behind NTooNZ
My journey in music began with my brother, Jeff Hoy—known lovingly as "Todd." As a child, I would sit and listen as he practiced, captivated by his beautiful vibrato and the clarity of his sound. He became my first musical inspiration and my first teacher.
That foundation carried me through to a full scholarship at Memphis State University (now University of Memphis), where my musical journey was built on three pillars: Brass. Keys. Training.
But the real transformation came when I discovered the shofar—a horn not made by man, but shaped by God Himself. With no valves, no keys, only breath, only obedience, I learned that music transcends technique. It became clear that my calling was to help others discover this truth: that music is expression, discipline, confidence, purpose, and connection.
